Konami – Yu-GI-Oh! World Championship
When Konami approached us to advertise their Yu-Gi-Oh! World Championship as well as their new title for Nintendo Switch, our influencer HandOfBlood and our Creative Team created a dedicated video placement, which would gather the attention of the entire German YouTube scene.
The Challenge
HandOfBlood knew exactly what he wanted right from the start: To work with the original voice of Yami Yugi from the Yu-Gi-Oh! TV series. Together with Konami, we made that connection happen.
The Idea
The video included a trip of HandOfBlood to the Yu-Gi-Oh! World Championship tournament in Berlin, where he would meet the German players, interact with referees and stumble into the professional live broadcast. With a little souvenier he brought from the event, HandOfBlood would later discover that he had the ability to speak to Yami Yugi while playing against his rival „German Let’s Play“ during one of their recording sessions.
The Result
The video placement ended up as one of the most infamous gaming videos on YouTube of 2019 with renown YouTubers calling it the content piece of the year.
